Privacy Policy

iora Campaign is a field-organizing tool used by political and community campaigns to plan and carry out door-to-door canvassing and literature distribution. It is a staff tool: accounts are created by a campaign administrator for members of that campaign’s team. It is not intended for use by the general public and is not directed to children.

This policy explains what information we collect from team members who use the app, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@iora.ai.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name and email address, provided by your campaign administrator when your account is created, and the campaign you belong to.
• Precise location. While you are on an active shift, the app records your device’s GPS location — including in the background or when your device is locked — to trace the route you walk and to mark which streets and addresses have been covered. Background location recording only happens during a shift you have started, and stops when the shift ends.
• Field activity. The streets and stops assigned to you, the ones you mark complete, notes you add, and timing and distance for your shift.
• Voice notes (optional). If you record a voice note, the audio is transcribed to text for you. We use the transcript to attach your note to the relevant stop.
• Device and diagnostic data. Basic technical information and crash or performance diagnostics that help us keep the app reliable.

How we use information

• To show your assignments and record your field work.
• To display your route and coverage to you and to your campaign’s administrators for organizing and coordination.
• To transcribe voice notes you choose to record.
• To secure your account and operate, maintain, and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with data brokers. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How information is shared

Your field activity and location during a shift are visible to administrators of the campaign you belong to. Data is not shared between different campaigns. We share information with service providers only as needed to run the app — for example, cloud hosting and the transcription service that converts your voice notes to text — and we require them to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the app to your campaign. Your campaign administrator may deactivate your account, and you may ask us to delete your personal data by contacting privacy@iora.ai.

Your choices

You control location access through your device settings and can turn it off at any time; some field features will not work without it. You can choose not to record voice notes. To request access to or deletion of your data, contact us at the address below.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to those who need it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above.
